Show @ Tell Friday

I love GS and re-sale shops and buying vintage silver, it adds interest to use different patterns in a tablescape.
Saturday morning on my way home from a 12 hour shift at the hospital, I saw a GS sign, so I stopped and purchased 12 pcs of silver for a dollar, my bargain for the month, I believe this is a 40's or 50's pattern.

It really does not matter what year the pattern is, I like it and believe the silver will clean-up and away it will go to a mix-match tablescape.

I want TO THANK Cindy again for sponsoring Show and Tell Friday. Click the title it will take you TO Cindy's blog. THANKS CINDY.

Saying Good-bye

Thursday, 9/3/2009 at 11:37AM I lost my beloved father. Myself and my sisters sat by his side holding his hands when he crossed over to be with our heavenly father, playing gospel music and singing. Dad loved gospel music and I know he could hear this beautiful music. It has been a week since his death and today is the first time I could write about our father.

Is this a dream ??? NO IT IS REAL, he was 89 years old and four days away from his
90th birthday. My heart is breaking, but I know, I would not bring him back to pain and suffering.

He was a decorated war hero, winning the 2nd highest metal for bravery "THE SILVER STAR" in WW2 and our hero.

We each expressed our good-byes, our family circle now has a huge gap---but one day it will be connected again. Dad will live in my heart always.

What's Blooming in my Garden

Clematis-Henryi

Pink Knock-Out Rose

This year I have been so busy, something had to go on the back burner, thus the blog has been on hold. I have been in the garden trying to shape things up, while I was traveling my DH did little to keep the garden in order so it has been major work to get things in order. It is therapy for me, but hard work. The arbor had to be painted, also all of our outdoor furniture and I hate painting. Weeds everywhere, so I chopped, pulled, sprayed and still have a long way to go. But, I have a vision of beauty and I'll get there.

Blue Monday, In the Garden

Blue Monday is hosted by Sally at smilingsally's blog just click on the title and away you go. HAPPY BLUE MONDAY!!!!!!!!!

Today it was a warm day that left me wishing that I could get out into the garden and dig in the dirt, get my hands dirty and smell the fresh soil. Since any time spent in the garden is therapy for me I decided to walk around my garden and sneak a few minutes of garden pleasure. I noticed some of the early plants (bulbs) beginning to break the soil, that is a good thing, but the clean-up I need to do is so over powering. The fish pond is so murky, the outdoor furniture needs a coat of paint, the compost is ready to be distributed and the list goes on and on. Every year I start with the feeling of, can I do this?, but once I start, I love every minute of my time in garden. This year I plan to expand my vegetable growing area, with the economic problems we have in this country any thing you can do to cut cost is worth the effort.

"Gardening is the art that uses flowers and plants as paint, and the soil and sky as canvas." Elizabeth Murray

Blue Monday

Today is Blue Monday and since I love blue and white dishes I'm posting some of the ones I have on display. Some I have collect for years and from all sorts of places.

Blue and White plates that I have collected for many years. The blue bowl was purchased from the 99 cent store in Ca.

The top of my corner cupboard I have decorated with blue and white items.

This is a photo I found on Flickr--not my dish, but I like it.

This a photo of a blue pot I have in my front garden. I look forward to visiting the rest of the Blue Monday posts. Have a great week and smile it is contagious.
