Two days left in August and time for fall decorations. Everywhere you go, fall colors and decorations are displayed. I love this time of the year. I like it when nights are cool and crisp, the beginning of football season, apples, pumpkins and corn stalks.
I would love to see your fall photos, interior and exterior.
My Honey and I decided to take a day trip to Frederickburg, Texas. It is a lovely old German town. Both sides of main street are lined with beautiful shops which are loaded with beautiful "stuff" to buy. I made one purchase I'll show you soon. We did take some photos and I'll share those with you today.
It is a relaxed Sunday morning in Texas. My sweetie and I are going to spend our day in the lazy mode. I have some new finds from thrifting in Texas, (When I leave I'm sure going to miss the shops I've located here) the transfer plate .99 cents, linen towel 1.29, small pressed glass dish .99 and the candle .99 not expensive items but I love them. The floral plate .99.
Wow !!!! it is Thursday and we're down hill with the work week, that is -- if you work a traditional 40 hour week, Monday to Friday, I don't, so the weekends are part of my work week, I usually have to work every other week-end, well, enough of this talk about work schedules.
I would like to have a HEART DAY-----what is a heart day? well, it is a day you show some small act of kindness from your heart, it could be: buy someone a cup of coffee, say something kind to a stranger, use the words--- thank you! your welcome! and please! There are so many small things we can do to show we have a heart. Post a kind remark on your favorite blog or welcome someone who is new to blogging, the list could go on and on. Think about it!!!!!and then act. "No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted." - -- Aesop
My act of kindness today is to thank you for reading my blog---with all the incorrect grammar and punctuation.
As blogged earlier I'm on assignment in Killeen, Texas, working with a hospital on Fort Hood military base. There is not much to do here except thrifting, which I have done. Today's post will show some of the goodies I have purchased. Most of my purchases were $3.oo or less.
The company I work with provides apartments for housing so there is not much you can do as far as decorating, but I manage to add some touches.
I have a passion for blue and white dishes and have been collecting for many years. I have some pictures to share with you, my collection of blue and dishes displayed in a 1880 cherry corner cupboard that my husband gave me over 22 years ago. The doors are open so viewing the collection is easy. Some of my first pieces were purchased at garage sells, dollar stores and auctions.
Today I was searching for inspiration for a project I have in mind and found a great article, check it out------ "A CHIC DOUBLE WIDE HOME" it is AWESOME. Let me know what you think. I bet you'll love it. Click on title it will take you to the site.
My last junking trip was great fun, although I had no one to share it with, I'm on assignment and no one seems to like the junking thing. I really did score; one piece of green depression glass .99 cents, small topiary .99 cents, one crystal candlestick 1.99, one small oil painting .99 cents and three pcs of old embroidery. My husband is coming to visit the 17th and I will post pictures then, he has the camera.
Today is an off day for me, I'm currently on assignment in Killeen, Texas (east Texas). I plan to do some junking and check a couple antique shops out. I have scored some great finds at garage sales in the area. So I'm off for the great hunt.....maybe just maybe I'll score again with some great stuff.
