Garden Gates

Gates offer landscapes and gardens the opportunity to make a great first impression when greeting visitors to the property. Gardeners have a wide variety of styles to choose from. Most of the time, the style of your garden fence or wall will dictate the style of your garden. This doesn't always happen and, in any case, the gate is a special feature in and of itself. My gate is wood and has been painted several times, blue and now red and it's a little rustic. My garden is an attempt to create a English cottage garden. Naturally, there are all kinds of versions of gardens and gateways today. Not every gardener wishes for her entryway to be painted or stained. Some want iron gates others want wood. Post your garden gate so we can see the different styles and decor. I'm posting a mosaic of garden gates that I like and of my garden gate. Would love to see your gate.

No, you wouldn't want to see mine, it is nothing short of pathetic! Someday I will have something magnificent like the ones you showed, with a wisteria covered arbor! Maybe I'll show you my neighbors' gate, it's customized for her dog, a gate with a view, so to speak!

Hi Sue,
Thanks for stopping by. I love all the different gates! It's so inspiring. I would love an arbour over one of my gates, but, there's no room!
Oh well, I'll have to play with the 'gazebo' my husband just built for me instead. :)
